Track Clamps!

If you've had the experience of making a rolling ball sculpture, then you know that making track looks like it's the easy part. In fact however, it's not. The main reason for this is that there is so much track on any given structure. The elements and tricks you develop may even be easier because they are just one operation, instead of feet and feet of winding twisting rails that need to keep the ball on at all costs. The easiest way to keep the ball on is by having consistent spacing on the rails. To achieve this, I use clamps to keep the rails firms when welding, and keep the track nearly all the same width.

These clamps are the result of reaseach, development and testing- and input from Randy -- THANKS!
I have used them on the last three desktops I built, and they sped up my progress by at about 20%.

These clamps are designed for use with 1/8" wire only.
These clamps are designed for two ball sizes, 1" (25mm) balls and 1-3/8" (35mm) balls.
They are made from 3/4" X 3/4" solid aluminum, and have a 1/4" x 1/2" steel bar across the top,
with a wing-nut to tighten it down from the bottom.

Cost: $40 each, or $35 each if you buy 3 or more.
I am ALL SOLD OUT of the clamps for now.
