This is an element on one of the hand powered sculptures that I made for Funique.
The elements I used had to be able to handle marbles quickly because the kids
might turn the handle as fast as they could. On this fun element, the 2" drop into the
arm and lift the counter-weight, the 1 3/8" marble. Instead of the arm slamming
back down after it releases the 2" marble onto the track below,
 the counter-weight marble rolls off onto it's own track, letting the arm
settle quietly down. The noise factor is not an issue on this sculpture, but on your sculpture
it may be. Having the counter weight roll off on it's own like this makes the arm much quieter.
