This desktop rolling ball sculpture is completely hands-on. Load the marbles into the top, then press the handle to release them—you can send one marble at a time or let them all go and watch the action unfold.
One of the highlights is a loop-de-loop that feeds directly into one of my “balls on track” mechanisms. The marble disappears into the element and another emerges to continue along the track. A flat spiral, tipping arm, and plenty of tight, curving and wavy track pack a surprising amount of movement into a compact tabletop sculpture.
Unlike my motorized pieces, this sculpture doesn't need a powered ball lift. The simple hand-operated release makes it an especially interactive example of a desktop rolling ball sculpture.
Handmade in the USA from 100% stainless steel and TIG welded.
