Another example of my “basic” desktop Rolling Ball Sculpture. Load the marbles into the queue at the top, press the lever, and release as many or as few as you want onto the two tracks.

The first track is the loop d’ loop. When the ball comes out of the loops it has quite a bit of backspin, which slows it down before it continues toward the bottom. It’s a simple effect, but a fun one to watch.

The second track takes the longer route. It has three separate sections of zig-zag track, a tipping arm, a flat spiral and lots of twisting, curving track connecting everything together.

My favorite part may be the finish. The two tracks come toward each other head-on at the bottom before the balls are collected and ready to be loaded up again.

No motor or electricity needed—just load it up, pull the lever and let gravity take over.
