This Rolling Ball Sculpture was built for Lily Pad Pediatrics in Opelousas, Louisiana. They were remodeling their practice and had an opening in the wall between the reception desk and waiting area. I built the RBS specifically to fit that opening and used 3D printing to carry their Lily Pad theme into the sculpture with colorful lily pads, lilies and frogs.

There are FOUR tracks on this one. A loop d’ loop, a tall vertical zig-zag, a ball-collecting track and a single-marble track. Several of the tipping arms have frogs attached to them, so every time a ball activates the arm, the frog jumps along with it.

The 3D-printed frogs and pink and green lily pads add some great color against all of the stainless steel. The finished sculpture is enclosed in glass inside the wall, where it can be seen from both sides of the practice.

All four tracks eventually merge in the flat collector plate at the bottom right before the balls return to the lift. This RBS uses 1-1/2" balls that I dyed in different colors to add even more color to the piece.
