Although this rolling ball sculpture may look like it is hanging on the wall, it is actually a tabletop piece. The full stainless steel frame makes the sculpture versatile: it can stand on a table using its legs or be mounted directly to a wall.

This sculpture has four tracks, including two loop-d-loop tracks and a tall, narrow coil. The fourth and longest track begins with an adjustable ball-collecting tipping arm. By changing the number of marbles in the counterweight basket, it can be set to collect and release one, two or three marbles at a time.

After being released, the marbles enter a second tipping arm that spaces them apart before sending them through a horizontal zig-zag. Proper spacing is important here—if the marbles enter too close together, they can collide on the sharp turns and stop.

All four tracks eventually empty onto the large collection plate at the bottom, which funnels the marbles back to the helical lift for another trip through the sculpture.
