I’ve built quite a few of these classic desktop Rolling Ball Sculptures over the years. They’re all about the same size and use many of the same elements, but once I start bending the tracks, every one ends up a little different.

Load the marbles into the queue at the top and they line up waiting to go. Press the handle at the bottom to release one, two, or all of them — your choice. The marbles enter a track splitter that turns one track into two.

One track heads into a loop d’ loop. The other takes the longer route through a flat spiral, tipping arm, horizontal zig-zag and lots of twisty track. At the bottom, the two tracks meet head-on, which can send the marbles right into each other when the timing is just right. Always satisfying to watch.

No motor, batteries or electricity needed. Just a level surface, some marbles and gravity.

As always, 100% stainless steel and TIG welded.
